The SEJ Summer Development Camp (SEJ) is a three–week intense summer rowing camp held on the campus of Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. SEJ focuses on increasing racing speed and aspects of the sport necessary to prepare dedicated athletes for competing at the next level.
Baylor School is renovating their student housing as well as hosting other large camps which limits our available slots. Therefor, SEJ will only be accepting female athletes and coxswains.
SEJ offers 48 U17, U19, and Intermediate/U23 athlete slots plus 7 up to female coxswain slots. These slots will be highly competitive and should fill quickly. Selection is based on modest 2000m time standards.
SEJ is geared for athletes that are developing towards the requirements of the USRowing National Teams or a college program. Athletes will experience a rigorous and competitive two week training program with up to four 60-minute training sessions per day. Focusing on strength development and technique (blade work, body mechanics, and power application), flexibility, mental training, as well as nutrition to enhance performance on the ergometer as well as the water. SEJ does not cut, therefor all athletes that are accepted and attend the program will travel and compete the final week at the US Rowing Club Nationals in Cincinnati, Ohio.
